I’m a fully qualified, integrative transpersonal psychotherapist, who works with adults online and also in-person in London, UK. I hold a current and clear DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service).
About Me
Psychotherapy with me is creative, compassionate, and intuitive, drawing on a spectrum of psychological theories in service to the diversity of each client’s needs. Some of my influences include:
Psychodynamic (Freud, Lacan, Klein, Winnicott): focusing on exploring unconscious patterns, past experiences, attachments, and deep-seated emotions that influence your current behaviour. By bringing these into conscious awareness, we work towards greater self-understanding and emotional freedom.
Humanistic (Gendlin, Maslow, Perls, Rogers): emphasizing personal growth, self-acceptance, and the inherent worth of each individual. This approach is client-centred, fostering a compassionate and non-judgmental space where we can explore your potential and experience authentic self-expression.
Existential (Frankl, Heidegger, Spinelli, Yalom): addresses the fundamental questions of human existence, such as meaning, freedom, isolation, and death. Encouraging you to confront these realities, this approach can empower you to live more authentically and with a greater sense of purpose.
Liberation (Fanon, hooks, Mullan, Sheehi & Sheehi): addresses the social, cultural, and political dimensions of mental health, focusing on issues of oppression, injustice, and marginalization. It aims to empower individuals by uncovering and addressing the impact of systemic inequalities on mental and emotional well-being, while fostering agency and resilience, a more active participation within community, and collective healing and resistance.
Transpersonal (Grof, Jung, Kalsched, Wilber): going beyond the personal realm to explore the spiritual, mystical, and transcendent aspects of human experience. Integrating these dimensions into the therapeutic process can help you connect with a deeper sense of Self, while addressing the impact of trauma through the lens of archetypal and spiritual defence mechanisms.
Areas of Experience
I have extensive experience working with clients who face challenges related to:
Climate Anxiety & Grief (& Polycrisis): Drawing on the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh to help clients navigate climate anxiety and grief, fostering mindfulness, connection to nature, and resilience in the face of ecological uncertainty, as well as the teachings and invitation from Bayo Akomolafe to slow down, embrace uncertainty, and look beyond conventional solutions to address complex societal and ecological challenges.
LGBTQ+ Identity (Sexuality & Gender): Offering affirming support for transgender, non-binary, and gender expansive individuals navigating gender identity, expression, dysphoria, and transition-related concerns. As well as challenges related to sexual orientation, including intimacy, shame, stigma, sexual health, coming out, and navigating relationships within the LGBTQ+ community.
Misogyny: Helping individuals navigate societal pressures, emotional struggles, and integration from harmful behaviours and experiences (including prejudice, domestic violence, abuse, etc.)
Neurodivergence: Including ADHD, Autism, and other neurodevelopmental conditions.
Psychedelic Integration: Helping to process and integrate insights from altered states of consciousness into everyday life.
Relationships: Providing support for issues around monogamy, polyamory, and non-traditional relating and relationships.
Transpersonal: Exploring the deeper, often spiritual aspects of the psyche, and the integration of these experiences into everyday life.
Trauma: Addressing Acute, Chronic, Complex, Developmental, Secondary (Vicarious), and Transgenerational Trauma.
